Christmas Giving Tree Guide 2020

Helping Members and our Community - Christmas 2020

2020 has proven to be a challenging year for most.  Covid-19 has left many people out of work, with long-term health issues, alone and battling mental health issues.  This year, more than ever people need our help.  Are you interested in participating in our Community Sharing and Christmas Caring programs this year?

How can I help?

Buy a gift for a Child or Senior

Visit one of our branches or give us a call to select a card from our Giving Tree.  Our staff nominate member families who have encountered personal economic hardship over the past year due to illness, layoff, job loss, under-employment, or limited income.  We approach the families and ask if they could use a helping hand for Christmas and offer groceries and gifts for their children.  If they agree, we add their children to the tree.  The card indicates the child’s age, gender, size, and some general likes to help offer ideas for gifts.  We have also included some  limited income senior members who we also provide groceries and a small gift to.

Purchase a gift for your selected child or senior and drop off to one of our branches no later than December 11, 2020.

If you are purchasing the gift on-line, please feel welcome to have the gift delivered to our Gardiners Road branch – just please include Christmas Caring and child’s age on the package.

Make a cash donation

Make a cash donation to help us purchase groceries for our families and seniors.  We will purchase all the fixings for Christmas dinner along with a staple order of groceries that will last two to three weeks.

If you wish to make a cash donation, please visit one of our branches and let our front-line staff know your wishes or give us a call and we can do so over the phone.

Please note that we are unable to provide tax receipts as our program is not a registered charity.
