Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

About Kingston Community Credit Union

Kingston Community Credit Union Ltd. (KCCU) is more than a financial institution—it is a member-owned cooperative built on the belief that banking should serve people, not the other way around. Open to individuals who live or work across Ontario, KCCU is rooted in community, accountability, and shared success.

Every decision is made with members in mind—supporting financial well-being, strengthening local communities, and building a sustainable future together.

A Different Kind of CFO Opportunity

This is not a traditional CFO role.

At KCCU, the Chief Financial Officer is a strategic steward of both financial strength and organizational purpose. You will play a critical role in ensuring the credit union remains financially sound, while also helping to advance a mission grounded in member value, trust, and community impact.

As a key partner to the CEO and Board, you will help shape the future of a growing, values-driven organization—balancing performance, prudence, and purpose.

The Impact You Will Have
  • Guide the credit union’s financial strategy and long-term sustainability
  • Translate financial insight into clear, values-aligned decisions at the executive and board level
  • Ensure strong governance, risk management, and regulatory integrity
  • Steward responsible growth through thoughtful capital, liquidity, and investment management
  • Strengthen relationships with members, regulators, and community stakeholders
  • Lead and mentor a team committed to collaboration, accountability, and service excellence

What You Bring

You may be an experienced financial leader or an emerging one ready to step into a CFO seat, and you believe that how results are achieved matters just as much as the results themselves.

You combine technical expertise with sound judgment, and you are energized by the opportunity to contribute to an organization where success is measured not only in financial terms, but in community impact.

Your background may include, or demonstrate the clear potential to develop:

  • Senior financial leadership experience, ideally within financial services, banking, or credit unions, or a demonstrated ability to grow into this level of responsibility
  • Strength in financial reporting, treasury, and enterprise risk management
  • Experience partnering with Boards and senior leadership teams
  • A strong understanding of regulatory environments and governance
  • Professional designation (e.g., CPA) preferred, or a clear path toward designation
  • A leadership style grounded in integrity, transparency, and collaboration

Why This Role Matters

At KCCU, finance is not just about numbers—it’s about enabling better outcomes for members and communities.

This is an opportunity to:

  • Influence strategy at the highest level of the organization
  • Contribute to a purpose-driven, member-first mission
  • Help shape the future of a resilient and community-focused financial institution
  • Be part of a leadership team that values trust, accountability, and impact
