This week Kingston is celebrating the 10th anniversary of The Tragically Hip’s final concert held on August 20th, 2016.

Originally formed in Kingston in 1984, The Tragically Hip have become a part of the city’s identity. Their music and legacy continue to inspire Canadians, and the community is coming together with incredible art installations, special events, and live performances to celebrate this milestone.

Enjoy a day of live music, archival footage, local vendors, and Hip-themed activities, followed by a free outdoor screening of Long Time Running.

📺 Saturday, August 22, 2026 | The Tragically Hip Viewing Party
Gather with fellow fans for a special screening of The Tragically Hip: A National Celebration and relive the band’s historic final hometown concert.

10 years later, The Tragically Hip’s music continues to bring people together. Come celebrate the band’s enduring connection to Kingston and the soundtrack of our nation.

  • Credit Card bearing the name and signature of the individual which has issued by a well-known and reputable Canadian financial institution
  • A CNIB (Canadian Institute for the Blind) client card bearing the individual’s photo and signature
  • Provincial Outdoors Card
  • Canadian University or College Student Card with photo (for student identification only)
  • An employee identification card (with photo) issued by an employer that is well known in the community (i.e. KGH, DND, Queens University, Corrections Canada, etc.)
  • Foreign passport
  • Ontario Driver’s License
  • Ontario Photo Identification Card
  • Canadian Passport
  • Permanent Canadian Resident Card
  • Canadian Citizenship Card (issued prior to 2012)
  • Secure Certificate of Indian Status issued by the Government of Canada
  • The DND (Department of National Defense) 404 driver’s license
  • Nexus Card issued by Canada Border Services Agency
  • Foreign Passport (only if it is equivalent to a Canadian issued photo identification document)
